ASO is the process of optimising mobile apps to rank higher in an app store’s search results. The higher your app ranks in an app store’s search results, the more visible it is to potential customers. That increased visibility tends to translate into more traffic to your app’s page in the app store.

Potential problems I analyzed 🕵️‍♀️:

  • Screenshots were in English instead of German.

  • No devices being shown.

  • Nothing about the UI was really speaking to the group of people of that country, why should they download it? For what reasons could this app be useful to them?

  • No eye-catching screenshots placed first and not enough contrast between text and background colour.

How I successfully solved it 💡:

  • Added a continuous story on the first 2 screenshots by combining one image into 2 screenshots. An effect proved to increase users’ attention and conversion rate.

  • I made sure to communicate that this app could be used to save all your bills and documents as that is something that speaks to the audience of the country.

  • I replaced the English UI with a german UI.

  • Added devices and made sure there was better readability.

In this project, I optimised Adobe Scan App screenshots and this is what we achieved in the first Q2:
- Achieved 21.2M Search App Units/Installs from the App Store, reaching 96.2% of search targets.
- A significant increase in paid traffic from both stores (App Store and Play Store)
- After A/B testing with other versions, this version brought an uplift to organic Search App Units.
